ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ - Atlantic Highlands Community Events Committee (AHCEC), a benevolence organization benefiting Atlantic Highlands, will present a $1250 donation to an Atlantic Highlands cadet with the NWS Earle Division of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps. Qualified cadets from Atlantic Highlands and other areas will attend two weeks of training with the British Royal Navy. Kim Spatola, AHCEC chairwoman, will present the check to Lt. Richard Baumann, commanding officer of the NWS Earle Division, at their fund-raiser this Saturday.
“The NWS Earle Division of Sea Cadets has a close, enduring partnership with the residents and businesses in Atlantic Highlands,” said Baumann. “Several of our cadets are town residents, and each year we hold our major fund-raiser at the Monmouth Masonic Lodge in Atlantic Highlands. In addition, local Foodtown founder and Navy captain Joe Azzolina organized our division at NWS Earle.”
“We are delighted to assist a deserving young person in such an educational experience,” said Spatola. “Other young people in the Atlantic Highlands community hearing about this may be motivated to attain similar levels of achievement.”
NWS Earle Division’s All-You-Can-Eat Italian Dinner will be held at the Monmouth Masonic Lodge, 14 East Garfield Avenue, from 4-8 PM Saturday, April 9. The dinner, a full sit-down feast, is entirely managed by the unit. Cadets, parents and officers – all volunteers – prepare food, wait tables, and clean up. All proceeds benefit the division’s cadet trip to Scotland this summer.
Dinner tickets are $8.00 adult, $5.00 child. Fifty-fifty tickets are $5.00 each.
